Tax Manager Position

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tax Manager to join our team. The Tax Manager will play a pivotal role in leading and managing various tax-related activities, including planning, compliance, and consulting services. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with clients, senior leadership, and other team members to deliver high-quality tax solutions while fostering client relationships and driving business growth.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage tax planning initiatives for clients, including analyzing complex tax issues and developing effective strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
- Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns for individuals, corporations, and other entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Provide proactive tax advice and guidance to clients on a wide range of tax matters, including entity structuring, mergers and acquisitions, and tax implications of business transactions.
- Prepare instruction letters for the execution of corporate reorganizations, estate & post-mortem tax planning, business succession planning, and the purchase and sale of a business
- Conducting tax research and interpreting tax legislation and proposed legislative changes to suggest proactive solutions to clients and Partners
- Collaborate with other departments and team members to identify opportunities for cross-selling services and delivering comprehensive solutions to clients.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing guidance, training, and support to foster their professional growth and development.
- Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication, responsiveness to client needs, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting or related field; Canadian CPA designation required.
- Has completed the CPA in-depth Tax Course
- Minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience in a public accounting practice, with a minimum of two (2) years specializing in taxation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complete tax concepts to clients and stakeholders.
- Proven leadership and management abilities, with experience in supervising and developing staff.
- Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Exceptional client service orientation, with a dedication to building and maintaining long-term client relationships.

Office Manager Position

Position Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and organized Accounting Administrative Assistant to join our team immediately. They will serve as the first point of contact for clients and visitors and will be responsible for managing day–to–day office operations. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in ensuring smooth day–to–day operations of our accounting practice.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a positive office atmosphere through leadership and communication.
- Greet clients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner, providing assistance and directing them to the appropriate personnel or meeting rooms.
- Basic accounting data entry including accounts receivable, invoicing and maintain time and billing systems.
- Answer incoming calls and respond to inquiries or route calls to the appropriate staff members.
- Coordinate and schedule appointments and meetings for staff, ensuring that meeting rooms are prepared and equipped with necessary materials.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as sorting and distributing mail, ordering office supplies, and maintaining office equipment.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and handle inquiries or requests with discretion and professionalism.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operation of office processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in office administration or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in a receptionist or office manager role is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and staff at all levels.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team in a fast–paced environment.
- Positive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
